Description

By Donna J. Fano

This is the first book to cover the history of Alice, who was a deaf dog given in 1972 by Farley and Claire Mowat to the Ontario School for the Deaf (now the Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf) located in Belleville, Ontario. She lived with the students in the residences and understood sign language. She was an amazing pet to all the students for seven years, until her accidental death in 1979. Alice’s legacy continues with this collection of stories, photos, and letters, including those sent by the Mowats.
