Hastings County Historical Society Activities and Special Events

See our PRESENTATIONS CALENDAR 2020 for more information.

Monthly Presentations

The Hastings Historical Society holds public presentations at 7:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month, eight times a year except for the months of June, July, August, and December.

In addition to guest speakers, each presentation features an interesting and informative re-cap of local news from 100 years ago called "Minus 100". Other Society business may also be discussed during this time, which the public is welcome to stay and listen.

Presentations are held at:

The Maranatha Auditorium, 100 College Street West in Belleville, Ontario.

There is no admission charge, guests and visitors and members of the general public are welcome to attend. There's plenty of free parking in back of the building and we're fully wheelchair accessible. Refreshments are served as well as a display of new and used books and historical memorabilia for sale for a very nominal price. All proceeds go to support activities and special events throughout the year.

Bus Tours & Special Events

The Society holds a number of special events during the year.

Bus tours are usually held in the late spring and visit historic places of interest in the Quinte area. In addition, the Society likewise participates in Canada Day celebrations on July 1st, Plowing Match exhibitions, Doors Open weekends, and other special events throughout the year.
