Newly arrived on the battlefield in France, young Private Oscar French is just learning how to deal with a war that's all-too-real when suddenly he's faced with something that can't be real at all. He's receiving letters from someone who claims to be his nephew and they're postmarked a hundred years into the future. No wonder he yearns for his life back on the farm in Waverley. For Oscar and his pal Joe, dodging German bullets and dealing with rats in the trenches and the red-light houses in town, it's hard to think that one day they'll be considered nation-builders.

Based on his acclaimed book, Letters to Vimy, Orland French has written an imaginative, evocative and often funny play about the events leading up to the attack on Vimy Ridge on Easter morning, 1917.

Starring Rick Zimmerman as Kirkland French, Aidan Coutts as Oscar French and Nick Brown as Joe. Directed by Peter Paylor and Lisa Morris.
